Acquire
Domain acquisition, handled with discretion
Westmore helps professionals research and confidentially pursue the domains they need, from first inquiry through secure transfer.
Approaching an owner should never spook them, or expose you.
Founders' biggest fear is tipping off a seller. So confidentiality isn't a footnote at Westmore, it's how every acquisition is run. Here is exactly how your identity, your target and your interest stay protected.
No-name outreach
We approach owners anonymously. Your name and company are never revealed, so the price is never re-priced to your budget.
NDA on request
Every engagement is private by default, and we're glad to sign a mutual NDA before you share a single detail.
Escrow or trust-account protected
Funds and the domain move through neutral escrow or Westmore's client trust account — never an unprotected wire sent on faith.
Never disclosed
Your identity, your target and your interest are never sold or shared, before, during or after.
How it works, four steps
Assess & identify
We establish who owns the name, its history, and what comparable names have sold for, before any contact.
Confidential approach
We open the conversation anonymously, so the owner never learns who is buying or how much it matters.
Negotiate on evidence
We anchor to comparables and hold a walk-away number, negotiating to a fair price, not the seller's ask.
Escrow & secure transfer
We close through neutral escrow and confirm the domain is verifiably in your control before funds release.
How our fees work
- Depending on the domain's value, a small upfront fee may apply to get us started — it confirms you're serious and lets us commit real time to the pursuit.
- After that, a 15% commission is due only if we're successful — payable when the acquisition actually completes. No result, no commission.
- Aligned with you: we're buyer-side, so we do best when the deal closes on terms that work for you.
Typical timeline
Timelines depend mostly on the owner. A patient buyer nearly always pays less than a hurried one.
What we need from you
Questions buyers ask
What is Westmore?
Westmore is a confidential, buyer-side domain acquisition firm. We represent the buyer only — companies and founders who want a premium domain that someone else already owns. We research the current owner, value the name, make contact anonymously, negotiate on your behalf, and close through secure escrow. We hold no inventory and never represent the seller.
How does buyer-side domain acquisition work?
In four steps. First we assess the name and establish who owns it and what comparable domains have sold for. Then we approach the owner anonymously, so they never learn who is buying or how much it matters. We negotiate against evidence with a firm walk-away number, and finally we close through neutral escrow — funds release only once the domain has verifiably transferred into your control.
How much does Westmore charge?
Depending on the domain's value, there may be a small upfront fee to get us started — it shows you're serious and lets us commit real time to the pursuit. Beyond that, we charge a 15% commission that's due only if we're successful, payable when the acquisition completes. If we don't close it, there's no commission. You'll always know the exact arrangement before anything proceeds.
How long does an acquisition take?
Anywhere from days to months, driven mostly by how responsive the owner is and how far apart the ask and fair value are. Rushing visibly is what makes deals expensive, so we protect your timeline rather than broadcast it.
Will the owner know it's us?
No. We approach owners anonymously. Your identity, your target and your interest are never disclosed, and we're glad to sign a mutual NDA before you share a single detail.
Do you guarantee you can get the domain?
No one honestly can. We can't guarantee an owner will sell, or a particular price, but we ensure you never overpay, never tip your hand, and never transfer unsafely.
What if I've already contacted the owner?
Tell us. It affects the approach, but we can often still help, quietly. It's one of the things worth sharing in your first inquiry.
Is my money safe during the transfer?
Yes. Funds and the domain move only through a neutral escrow agent, and funds are released only once control of the name has verifiably transferred into your account.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee that a domain can be acquired, that a seller will respond, or any particular price, timing or outcome. Westmore does not provide legal, tax, financial, valuation or brokerage advice.
Lost a domain through a UDRP you filed?
The Westmore Reset is a selective program for parties evaluating a disciplined, buyer-side path to acquiring that domain anyway.
